“ The concept of federalism is not a new concept as some Ethiopian or Eritrean political elites define. It is a unity without uniformity and diversity without fragmentation.”

Diversity is used as an expression of harmony and unity between dissimilar individuals or groups. It is a concept of "unity without uniformity and diversity without fragmentation"[1] that shifts focus from unity based on a mere tolerance of physical, cultural, linguistic, social, religious, political, ideological and/or psychological differences towards a more complex unity based on an understanding that difference enriches human interactions. The idea and related phrase is very old and dates back to ancient times in both Western and Eastern Old World cultures.

Eritrea military training camps raise concerns about security in eastern Sudan

The ongoing militarisation and increased armament of ‘popular resistance’ groups in eastern Sudan has raised fears about renewed tribal conflicts in the region. The establishment of training camps by armed movements from eastern and western Sudan in Eritrea only increases the concerns.

Military sources told Radio Dabanga that six training camps have been established in the Eritrean Gash-Barka region neighbouring Sudan, by five armed groups from eastern Sudan and a sixth from Darfur.

Two Eritreans dead and two injured in severe violence in Israel

Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a violent incident between Eritrean asylum seekers in Rishon Lezion. In a fight in Tel Aviv, two young men were moderately and severely injured.

State and Constitution building in Eritrea Minority Rights in state building

How can the oppression of ethnic minorities in post-dictatorship transitions be best addressed through constitution building and state structure? Where constitution building takes place in the aftermath of conflict or after the fall of dictatorship the relationship between different ethnic minorities and dominant ethnic groups within the state are often difficult and headache for the dominant ethnic like that of our tiny Eritrea.

Eritrean ambassador and supporters of “Eri Blood” gather in Grellingen and call for violence – large-scale police operation

In the municipality of Grellingen in the canton of Baselland, representatives of the Eritrean dictator gathered on Saturday to call for violence against refugees. The police were on site with emergency services. The area was cordoned off over a large area.

A major police operation ran for hours in Grellingen on Saturday. An Eritrean event with around 400 participants took place near the Chez Georges restaurant. It was a private event for the Eritrean association in Switzerland, as the Basel-Landschaft cantonal police said upon request.

Israeli forces come under two missile attacks in Eritrea, senior officer killed

Israeli forces have come under attack in Eritrea with reports saying the armed offensive led to the killing of a senior officer amid an ongoing war between Palestinian resistance groups in the besieged Gaza Strip and the Israeli regime. 

Lebanon's Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television news network, citing military sources, reported the development on Thursday and said two missile attacks were carried out against Israeli forces stationed in Eritrea.
